Professionally I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW); I earned a Masters Degree from Boston University as well as the Lois Lowry Gerontological and Human Service Management certification. I am a certified trainer of the 2young2retire program. Since graduate school I have worked in elder and family subsidized housing; as the Assistant Director of the Beverly Council on Aging, a busy and vibrant senior center on the north shore and as the Hoarding Outreach Specialist at Greater Lynn Senior Services. I also teach classes at the School of Social Work at Salem State University and North Shore Community College. I am also an active member of the MA National Association of Social Workers (NASW), the MA Statewide Hoarding Steering Committee, and the Elder Justice Network of the North Shore.
I was awarded the Emerging Leader award this year (2014) by the MA Chapter of NASW
I pull from my areas of training which include: cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness and meditation, motivational interviewing, exposure therapy, value based coaching, and my extensive work with and on behalf of individuals who hoard and/or feel excessively cluttered in life and spirit.
I learn something new every day from the people I am fortunate to work with, and I thank you for that. When we work together I am open to your ideas, perhaps you have a book or article we can read together and discuss or a relaxation technique you learned and would like to try in a quiet comfortable setting. I also understand that for some traveling outside the home is difficult for various reasons. I am open to meeting you were you are most at ease.
Personally, I am someone who makes balancing my life a priority. I am someone who likes to have a plan, but is flexible enough to make changes along the way. I am a good wife, mother, friend, pet-owner…at least I strive to be. I would never make a decision for you, but will help you discover what works best for you. Together we’ll work to find balance and make fulfilling changes in your life.
Licensed and insured.
